How the scam works
Impersonation storefronts borrow the look and language of a real trade supplier so that buyers trust them with quotes, orders and payment. In home-improvement schemes like this, victims are usually asked for a deposit or full payment, often by bank transfer. They may also be asked for personal, address and card details. The worktops never arrive, and the money and the information are gone. Large-ticket items such as quartz worktops make the upfront deposit especially costly.
