# Unicode Inspector

Category: General dev
Where it runs: Runs locally (nothing you enter is uploaded)

See exactly which characters a piece of text contains: each one is listed with its Unicode code point, UTF-8 bytes and HTML entity. A Cyrillic а in a domain shows up as U+0430 instead of U+0061.

## Example input

Lookalike domain

```
exаmple.com
```

The third row shows U+0430 with two UTF-8 bytes (0xD0 0xB0): a Cyrillic а, not the Latin a (U+0061) of example.com.

## FAQ

### What does each row show?

The character, its code point in U+ notation and as hex, its UTF-8 bytes and a decimal HTML entity. The text is split by code point, so an emoji such as U+1F600 takes one row while a letter with a combining accent takes two.

### Does it flag lookalike or invisible characters?

No. It lists every code point without names or warnings, so look for values outside the range you expect, such as U+0400 to U+04FF (Cyrillic) in a Latin domain; zero-width characters appear as rows with an empty-looking Char cell. The Homoglyph Checker and the Invisible Character Detector flag these automatically.

### Is the text sent anywhere?

No. The table is built in your browser as you type, and nothing is uploaded.
